Tony Samuel Fired

New Mexico State University football coach Tony Samuel has been fired this morning. At a press conference, NMSU officials announced their intention to not renew Samuel's contract.

Tony Samuel finished his eighth season as head coach at New Mexico State Saturday with a loss against Utah State.

Since the arrival of Mike Price to its interstate rival, the UTEP Miners, expectations for the NMSU football program have skyrocketed.

Samuel, the third winningest coach in NMSU football history, with a 34-57 record and finished this year with a 5-6 mark.
