NMSU Women's Golf Finish Eighth

Freshman Inah Park finished up a solid performance at the 20th Annual Price's 'Give 'Em Five' Intercollegiate with a final round 3-over par, 75. Park led the Aggies with an 11th place finish at 8-over par, 224. The Aggies as a team finished in eighth place with a three round team score of 61-over par, 925 at the NMSU University Golf Course.

The Oklahoma Sooners took the team title with a three round team score of 24-over par, 888. As a team Oklahoma shot a 2-over par, 290 the lowest round of the tournament. The Baylor Bears (26-over par, 890) and the LSU Tigers (37-over par, 901) rounded out the top-three teams. Kansas State's Christine Boucher fired off a tournament low 67 (5-under par) in the final round to take the individual title at 3-under par, 213.

"This is probably one of the best teams I have ever had," head coach Joann Cox said. "We probably didn't finish where we wanted but we are young and we worked our tails off and showed so much heart during these last three days. I'm very excited about our team and the direction we are heading."

For the Aggies, Park was followed closely by sophomore Danielle Roseberry, who shot a three round score of 11-over par, 227. Roseberry finished tied for 22nd. Sophomore Alexandra Lee, Freshman Lahua Wise and freshman Kelli Dalpes would all improve their scores in the final round.

Lee, carded a 4-over par, 76 on the final day, placing her in a tie for 41st, as Wise finished in a tie for 51st after a final round score of 7-over par, 79 and a 23-over par, 239 for the tournament. Dalpes rounded out the Aggies squad finishing in a tie for 84th with a tournament score of 37-over par, 253.

Freshman Tamara Robbins shined for the Aggies amongst the individual competitors placing in a tie for 29th with a three round total of 13-over par, 229 (78-75-76).

The Aggies will be back in action on Oct. 17-19 at the Pepsi-Stanford Women's Golf Intercollegiate in Palo Alto, Calif.
