Five-star wide receiver James Quick of Louisville Trinity announced his decision today at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, choosing to stay local.

The Louisville Cardinals added a major piece to their recruiting class today, picking up a commitment from five-star wide receiver James Quick of Trinity High School.

"They're a great program," he said of the Cardinals. "They're turning it around and they [played] in the Sugar Bowl."

The 6'1, 180-lb Quick announced his decision at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and chose the Cardinals over Ohio State and Oregon. He held additional offers from Alabama, Auburn, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Missourri, Tennessee, and West Virginia.

In addition to the proximity and his relationship with head coach Charlie Strong, Quick also is close to wide receivers coach Ron Dugans.

"I have a real good relationship with Coach Dugans," he said previously. "We can talk about anything and not just football."

As a senior, Quick caught 85 passes for 1,416 yards and 16 touchdowns earning Mr. Football honors in Kentucky. For his career, he caught 280 passes for 4,209 yards and 52 touchdowns while winning three state titles.

Quick is currently rated by Scout.com as the nation's number two wide receiver and a five-star prospect.

Trinity head coach Bob Beatty on Quick and teammate Jason Hatcher:
"If you look first of all from the time they were freshmen, they have lost two football games in four years. They set the tone for our football team and they were the models and their motor has to run hard. They were always kind of in support roles until last year and last year we had a very special season, ended up number one in the nation. This year we had to turn around and they were the leaders, with not nearly as talented football team. And we were 13-1 and won state again, but because of their experience they have come down here and done very well. Its very pleasing to see them do well, especially among this type of company."
